US President Donald Trump’s Big Warning to Countries Doing Business with Russia
Friends, as you know, global politics changes faster than our mobile software updates. And this time, US President Donald Trump has given a strong warning to the world. On Monday, Trump said that any country doing business with Russia will face “very severe sanctions”. Yes, you heard it right — “very severe”.
Let me tell you all, reporters asked him whether Congress should pass tough measures against Russia and President Vladimir Putin. Trump replied,
“I hear they’re doing that, and that’s okay with me.”
He added that Republicans are preparing strong sanction-related legislation, and they may even include Iran in these restrictions, something Trump himself suggested. Sometimes, it seems like Trump treats sanctions the way we treat masala while cooking — “Add a little more… maybe add Iran also!”

Trump Reiterates the Possibility of Targeting Iran Too
Trump made it clear again:
“Any country that does business with Russia will be very severely sanctioned. We may add Iran to the formula.”
Friends, this is not a small statement. In simple words, America is drawing a strict line:
Do business with Russia → Face big trouble from the US.
High Tariffs on India — Up to 50%!
Now, here’s the part that will interest many of us. The Trump administration has imposed 50% tariffs on India, one of the highest in the world. This includes 25% levies on India’s purchases of Russian energy. To make things even tougher, US Senator Lindsey Graham has introduced a bill proposing a 500% tariff on the reselling of Russian oil. 500%! Friends, that’s not a tariff — that’s basically the bill saying, “Please don’t do this at all!”
This proposal already has widespread support in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
What is the Sanctioning Russia Act of 2025?
Let me tell you all, Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal have come together to introduce the Sanctioning Russia Act of 2025. This law aims to impose:
- Secondary tariffs
- Sanctions on countries that continue buying Russian oil and gas
The idea is simple:
“Stop funding Putin’s war machine in Ukraine.”
Believe it or not, this bill already has 85 cosponsors, showing how strongly the US Senate feels about this issue.
Why Are These Sanctions Being Pushed?
Graham and Blumenthal said in July that President Trump’s team has taken powerful steps to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
But according to them, the “ultimate hammer” to stop the war is strict tariffs on countries like:
- China
- India
- Brazil
These countries buy cheaper Russian oil and gas, which indirectly supports Russia’s economy. Friends, sometimes diplomacy feels like a cricket match — one team hits boundaries, the other responds with fast bowling. Except here, the ball is global economics!
